타이완과 뉴질랜드는 북한이 유엔 안보리 결의를 반복적으로 위반하며 탄도미사일을 발사하고 있다고 비판했습니다. 북한의 이 같은 행동이 역내 안보를 위협한다며 추가 도발을 자제하고 건설적인 대화에 복귀할 것을 촉구했습니다. 박동정 기자가 보도합니다.
타이완이 최근 북한의 탄도미사일 발사를 규탄했습니다.
[타이완 외교부] “North Korea launched three ballistic missiles from the Pyongyang area into the waters east of the Korean Peninsula on May 25 at five o’clock in the morning, Taipei time. This marked North Korea’s 17th missile test this year. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) condemns North Korea for repeatedly contravening related bans imposed by the United Nations Security Council and for undermining regional security.”
타이완 외교부 대변인은 27일 VOA에 보낸 이메일에서 북한이 지난 25일 평양 일대에서 한반도 동쪽 해상으로 탄도미사일 3발을 발사한 것을 언급하며, 이는 올들어 17번째 북한의 미사일 시험발사라고 지적했습니다.
그러면서 “타이완 외교부는 북한이 유엔 안전보장이사회가 부과한 관련 금지를 반복적으로 위반하고 역내 안보를 훼손하는 것에 대해 규탄한다”고 밝혔습니다.
[타이완 외교부]”Since January this year, North Korea has frequently test-fired a variety of missiles, including intercontinental ballistic missiles. The R.O.C (Taiwan) government continues to closely monitor the potential impact of North Korea’s actions on the regional situation. As a member of the Indo-Pacific community, Taiwan is willing to cooperate with relevant international measures and work with like-minded countries to ensure peace and stability in the region.”
이어 “북한이 올해 1월부터 대륙간탄도미사일(ICBM) 등 다양한 미사일을 빈번하게 시험 발사했다”며 “타이완 정부는 이 같은 북한의 행동이 지역 정세에 미칠 잠재적 영향을 계속 면밀히 주시할 것”이라고 밝혔습니다.
아울러 “타이완은 아시아태평양 공동체 일원으로서 역내 평화와 안정을 보장하기 위해 관련 국제 조치에 협력하고 같은 생각을 가진 국가들과 협력할 용의가 있다”고 덧붙였습니다.
뉴질랜드는 “북한의 탄도미사일 능력 발전에 우려하고 있다”고 밝혔습니다.
[뉴질랜드 외교부] “Aotearoa New Zealand is concerned by any developments in North Korea’s ballistic missile capabilities as United Nations Security Council resolutions clearly ban the use and development of ballistic missile technology by North Korea.
뉴질랜드 외교통상부 대변인은 27일 VOA에 보낸 이메일에서 “유엔 안보리 결의들이 북한의 탄도미사일 기술 개발과 이용을 명백히 금지하고 있다”며 이같이 밝혔습니다.
이 대변인은 “북한의 불법 탄도미사일 프로그램과 올해 다수의 탄도미사일 시험은 한반도와 인도태평양 지역의 안보와 안정을 위협하고 있다”고 지적했습니다.
[뉴질랜드 외교부] “North Korea’s illicit ballistic missile programme and its numerous ballistic missile tests this year threaten security and stability on the Korean Peninsula and the broader Indo-Pacific region. New Zealand urges North Korea to abide by its international obligations, refrain from further testing, and to engage in constructive dialogue towards building a lasting and stable peace on the Korean Peninsula.”
그러면서 “뉴질랜드는 북한이 국제적 의무를 준수하고 추가 실험을 자제하며 한반도에서 지속적이고 안정적인 평화를 구축하기 위한 건설적인 대화에 참여할 것을 촉구한다”고 강조했습니다.
앞서 북한은 25일 평양 순안 일대에서 동해상으로 탄도미사일 3발을 발사했습니다.
한국 합동참모본부는 첫 번째 탄도미사일을 대륙간탄도미사일로 추정했으며 두 번째와 세 번째 미사일은 단거리탄도미사일로 분석됐다고 밝혔습니다.
북한의 이번 발사는 올들어 17번째이자 윤석열 정부 출범 이후 2번째 무력 도발입니다.
