남한과 북한이 2일 군사실무회담을 개최한다고 한국 국방부가 밝혔습니다. 남북 군사회담은 지난 1월 이후 8개월여 만에 열리는 것입니다.
한국 국방부에 따르면 남북간 군사실무회담은 2일 오전 10시 판문점 남측 '평화의 집'에서 열릴 예정입니다.
북한 정부는 지난주 남측에 보낸 전화통지문에서 30일 회담을 열자고 제의했으나 한국측은 다른 공식 일정들을 고려해 이달 2일 열자고 역제안했습니다.

South Korea says military officials from North and South Korea will hold
talks this week, in the first official contact between the two rivals in more
than eight months.
Officials say the talks will be held Thursday morning at the border truce
village of Panmunjom. Pyongyang proposed the talks last week, asking for the
meeting to be held on Tuesday. Seoul agreed, but asked the talks be moved to
Thursday.
Relations between North and South Korea have been tense since conservative
President Lee Myung-bak took office in February. Mr. Lee had promised to take a
tougher stance with the isolated regime.
The shooting death of a South Korean tourist by North Korean soldiers at a
mountain resort in July further aggravated tensions.
