버마 군사 정부가 버마 주재 외국 대사관들에 대해 다음달로 예정된 헌법 개정안에 대한 국민투표에 개입하지 말라고 경고했습니다.
버마 관영매체는 오늘 외국 대사관들이 버마의 민주화 지도자 아웅산 수치 여사의 민주주의전국연맹당을 지원하고 선동하고 있으며 버마 국내 문제에 개입하고 있음을 버마 군사정부가 비난했다고 전했습니다.
이같은 버마 정부의 경고는 버마 군사정부가 논란이 되고 있는 헌법 개정안 초안을 발표한 지 하루만에 나온 것입니다.
Burma's military government has warned foreign embassies in the country not to meddle in its preparations for holding a referendum next month on a draft constitution.
In a report today (Thursday) in Burma's state-controlled "New Light of Myanmar," the government accused foreign embassies of "aiding and abetting" Aung San Suu Kyi's opposition party, the National League for Democracy, and interfering in the country's internal affairs.
The report did not name the foreign embassies, but claimed they were trying to destabilize the country.
It also said they were giving the NLD directives to harm the interests of the people of Burma.
The warning comes just one day after Burma's military government published the text of its controversial draft constitution and announced that a national referendum on the charter would be held on May 10th.
