미국령 괌 안보 당국은 18일 북한의 탄도미사일 발사에 대해 괌을 직접 위협하진 않지만 인근 상황을 계속 주시하겠다고 밝혔습니다.
괌 국토안보∙민방위 사무국은 이날 사만다 브레넌 국토안보 고문을 인용해 발표한 성명에서 “보도된 발사가 괌이나 북마리아나 제도에 즉각적인 위협을 가하지 않는 것으로 평가됐다”고 전했습니다.
[브레넌 고문] “No immediate threat was assessed for the Marianas from the reported launch,” said Homeland Security Advisor, Samantha Brennan. “GHS/OCD, with open lines of communication with federal and military partners, will continue to monitor all events in the region.”
그러면서 “괌 국토안보∙민방위 사무국은 미국 연방 및 군 파트너들과 통신망을 통해 이 지역의 모든 사건을 계속 감시할 것”이라고 밝혔습니다.
또한 “마리아나 지역융합센터(MRFC), 미국 연방·군사 파트너들과 함께 북한의 최근 미상 발사체 발사에 대한 보도를 포함해 역내 주변 사건을 계속 감시하고 있다”고 설명했습니다.
[괌 당국] “The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the Mariana Regional Fusion Center (MRFC), federal and military partners, continue to monitor events surrounding the region including reports of the recent launch of an unidentified projectile out of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) today.”
미국은 북한의 중장거리 미사일 사정권에 있는 괌에 통합방공망 배치 방안을 검토하고 있습니다.
