파키스탄 정부는 이번 인도 뭄바이 시에서 일어난 테러공격과 관련해 인도정부에 적극 협력할 준비가 되어 있다고 밝혔습니다. 하지만 파키스탄 정부는 인도 정부는 이번 사건으로 파키스탄을 비난하지 말아야 한다고 강조했습니다.
파키스탄 외무부는 28일 밤 발표된 성명서에서 파키스탄은 이번 테러사건을 강력하게 규탄한다고 말혔습니다.
한편 파키스탄의 아십 알리 자다리 대통령과 유셉 라자 질라니 총리는 28일 인도의 마모한 싱 총리와 각각 가진 전화통화에서 파키스탄은 인도를 적극 지원할 것이라고 약속했습니다.
파키스탄 대통령과 총리는 인도가 이번 테러사건을 조사하는 것을 돕기 위해서 파키스탄 정보기구의 관계자를 인도에 파견할 것이라고 말했습니다. 이보다 앞서 파키스탄 정부는 정보기구의 최고 책임자를 인도에 보내겠다고 발표했지만 곧 이 같은 발표를 수정한 바 있습니다.
한편 인도 외무부의 프라납 무케르지 장관은 이번 테러공격을 일으킨 반군들이 파키스탄과 관련이 있다고 주장했습니다.
이 같은 주장에 대해 파키스탄의 총리는 파키스탄은 이번 공격과 상관이 없음을 믿는다고 말했습니다.
Pakistan's government says it is prepared to deepen its engagement with India on counter-terrorism, but says it is important for India to avoid the "blame game"
In a statement issued late Friday, Pakistan's Foreign Office said Pakistan has strongly condemned the horrific terrorist attacks in Mumbai.
Earlier on Friday, both Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani pledged their support for India, during separate phone calls to Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Pakistani leaders also said they would send a representative from the country's intelligence agency to India to help in the investigation into the attacks. Earlier, Pakistan had said it would send its top intelligence official, but later changed that decision.
India's foreign minister (Pranab Mukherjee)said there is evidence that the Mumbai attackers had links to Pakistan.
But the Pakistani prime minister stressed his government does not believe Pakistan is involved in the Mumbai attacks.
