유럽연합 집행위윈회(EC)는 3일 세계금융위기의 여파로 유럽경제가 이미 경기침체 국면에 진입했을 수 있다고 평가했습니다. 또 내년에는 유럽경제가 거의 성장하지 않거나 위축될 수도 있다고 밝혔습니다.
집행위는 유로화를 사용하는 15개 국가로 구성된 유로존 경제가 올해 3.4 분기에 마이너스 성장을 기록했다며 앞으로 계속 하락할 것으로 전망했습니다.
이런 가운데, 유럽연합 국가 재무장관들은 이날 벨기에 브뤼셀에서 현 경제위기에 대한 공통된 대응방안을 논의하기 위해 이틀 일정의 회담을 열었습니다.
한편, 한국은 3일 1백 10억 달러의 세금 감면과 새로운 지출 계획을 담은 경제난국 극복 종합대책을 발표했습니다.

The European Commission says the global financial crisis may
have already pushed Europe into a recession, and the continent's economy will
barely grow, or even shrink, next year.
The commission said today (Monday) economies in the 15-nation euro zone
shrank during one quarter (one three-month period) this year. It predicts
more declines.
The news came as EU finance ministers opened two days of talks in Brussels to
shape a common response to the economic crisis.
In the meantime, the stalled credit that made the economic crisis worse is
moving again. A measure of banks' willingness to lend to each other and
businesses has hit its best level since mid-September.
The "Libor" improved as governments around the world gave trillions
of dollars in loans, stock purchases, guarantees and other aid to ease bankers'
concerns.
South Korea, for example, announced 11 billion dollars in tax cuts and new
spending (today/Monday).
