이스라엘 군이 26일 요르단강 서안지구 내 헤브론 시 정착기지를 해체하자 유대인 정착민들이 시 전역에서 난동을 벌였습니다.
이스라엘 군 당국은 이스라엘 보안군을 공격한 일부를 포함해 적어도 4명이상의 정착민들이 구속됐다고 말했습니다.
팔레스타인 주민들은 유대인 정착민들이 한 회교도 공동묘지를 고의적으로 파괴하고 자동차 타이어에 칼집을 냈다고 말했습니다.
이번 폭동은 마흐무드 압바스 팔레스타인 정부 자치 수반이 보안군 수백명을 헤브론에 파병한 지 하루만에 발생한 것입니다.
관리들은 25일 미명에 6백여명 가까이의 보안군이 시에 진입했다고 말했습니다. 관리들은 이번 파병이 이스라엘 군과의 협의로 이뤄졌다고 말했습니다.
헤브론 시는 팔레스타인과 이스라엘 주민 거주 지역이 분할돼 있습니다.

Jewish settlers rampaged through
the West Bank city of Hebron today (Sunday) after Israeli forces
dismantled a settlement outpost.
Israeli authorities say at least four settlers were arrested, including a few
who attacked members of Israel's security forces, in this latest occurrence of
settler violence.
Palestinian residents say the settlers vandalized graves in a Muslim cemetery
and slashed car tires.
The incident occurred one day after Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas
deployed hundreds of security officers to the city as part of a widening
security crackdown.
Officials say nearly 600 security forces entered the city before dawn on
Saturday. They say the deployment took place with the coordination of the
Israeli army, in a city divided between Palestinian and Israeli residents.
