인도네시아 아체 지역의 독립을 추구하는 무장단체의 창시자가 30년의 망명을 마치고 고향으로 돌아갔습니다.
11일 전 반군 단체 '아체자유운동'의 창시자인 하산 디 티로를 환영하러 수천명의 인파가 몰렸습니다.
아체 주의 중심도시인 반다 아체의 공항에서 내린 83세의 디 티로는 쇄약해 보였습니다.
1976년 인도네시아로부터 독립하겠다는 디 티로의 선언은 30년간의 내전을 불러왔고, 이때 1만5천명의 생명이 희생되고 수마트라 섬의 북부 지역은 초토화됐습니다.
지난 2005년 아시아 쓰나미 사태 이후 반군 지도자들은 인도네시아 정부와 자치 협정을 맺는 데 합의했습니다.

The founder of Indonesia's Aceh separatist rebel movement returned home today (Saturday)after more than 30 years in exile.
Thousands of people turned out to welcome Hasan di Tiro, founder of the former
rebel group, the Free Aceh Movement.
The 83-year-old appeared to be in frail health as he was helped off the plane
in the provincial capital of Banda Aceh and was greeted by his elderly sister.
Di Tiro's declaration of independence from Indonesia in 1976 sparked a
three-decade civil war that claimed 15 thousand lives and left the province on
the northern tip of Sumatra island in ruins.
The Asian tsunami prompted rebel leaders to agree to a 2005 autonomy pact with
Indonesia.
