UFG 연습은 오늘부터 22일까지 닷새간 일정으로 실시되며 5만6천명의 한국군과 1만명의 미군이 참여해 컴퓨터와 통신, 작전체계 등을 시험하게 됩니다.
한편 북한의 조선중앙방송은 15일 성명을 발표하고 한미 합동 훈련이 조선반도의 긴장을 격화시킨다며 이를 즉시 중단할 것을 촉구했습니다.

South Korea and the United States have begun an annual joint military
exercise that the communist North routinely denounces as a military
provocation.
Military officials say the Ulchi Freedom Guardian drill that started today (Monday)will last until Friday and involves about 56 thousand South Korean troops and
10 thousand U.S. forces.
The drills will test computer, communication and command systems.
The North routinely criticizes such exercises as a prelude to invasion, while
the United States and South Korea say they are purely defensive.
North Korea's official Central Korean News Agency released a statement Friday
calling for the cancellation of the exercises and an end to what it called the
South's "humiliating alliance" with the United States.
