달라이 라마의 로디 지아리 특사는 어제 (4일) 기자들에게 중국측은 이번 주 회담에서 달라이 라마가 다음 달 베이징 올림픽 대회를 방해하기를 원한다고 거듭 주장했다고 말했습니다. 지아리 특사는 이같은 주장을 일축하고 중국측에 대화에 진지하게 임하지 않을거면 추가 대화는 시간낭비일 뿐이라고 말했다고 전했습니다.
한편, 중국 관영 언론들은 티베트 망명정부와 중국 정부간 추가 대화가 연말께 다시 열릴 수 있다고 관리들의 말을 인용해 지난 3일 보도했습니다. 지아리 특사는 올림픽 대회의 폐막 이후 다시 대화에 나설 것으로 기대한다고 말했습니다.
달라이 라마는 베이징 올림픽 대회에 대한 지지입장을 여러 차례 밝힌바 있습니다.

An envoy to Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, says the latest round of talks with China was one of the most difficult sessions held so far.
Lodi Gyari told reporters Friday that at the talks this week, his Chinese counterparts repeated accusations that the Dalai Lama wants to sabotage next month's Olympic Games in Beijing. He said he rejected the accusations, telling his Chinese counterparts that if they are not serious about dialogue, these talks will amount to a waste of time.
Chinese state media quoted officials Thursday as saying another meeting between the two sides is possible by the end of the year. Lodi Gyari said he expects another round of talks after next month's Olympics are over.
The Dalai Lama has repeatedly voiced support for the Beijing Olympics. He also has rejected persistent Chinese allegations that he wants independence for his Tibetan homeland.
