이에 따라 이스라엘은 지난 1979년 이스라엘 남성과 그의 네살짜리 딸, 경찰관 한 명 등을 살해한 혐의로 무기징역형을 선고받은 사미르 칸타르를 포함해 레바논 수감자 5명을 석방합니다.
이에 상응해 레바논의 헤즈볼라 무장세력은 지난 2006년 이스라엘과의 한 달 전쟁을 촉발했던 국경지대 공격에서 생포한 이스라엘 군인 두 명의 시신을 인도하게 됩니다.

Israel's government agreed Sunday to free Lebanese prisoners in return for the bodies of two Israeli soldiers that it believes were killed by Hezbollah fighters.
Israeli cabinet ministers voted 22 to three in favor of a German-brokered prisoner swap with the Lebanese Shi'ite militant group.
Under the deal, Israel will release five Lebanese prisoners, including Samir Kantar, a militant jailed for life on charges of killing an Israeli man, his four-year old daughter and a policeman in 1979.
In return, Hezbollah is expected to hand over the bodies of the two Israeli soldiers (Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev), whom it captured in a 2006 cross-border raid that sparked a month-long war with Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Sunday that he believes the soldiers did not survive the raid and that Israel has a moral obligation to bring back their remains.
Hezbollah declared victory after the Israeli cabinet vote and planned celebrations to welcome back the Lebanese prisoners.
