전세계 지도자들은 북한의 핵신고를 환영한다면서도, 북한의 신고 내용이 검증될 때까지 신중한 자세를 취하겠다는 입장을 밝혔습니다.
일본의 고무라 마사히코 외상은 26일 일본에서 열린 서방선진 8개국 외무장관 회의에서 북한의 핵신고는 북한의 핵무기 계획 폐기를 향한 한 단계 조치일뿐이라며 이같이 말했습니다.
일본은 지난 2006년 북한의 핵실험과 미사일 시험발사에 대응해 북한 선박의 입항과 북한과의 무역 대부분을 금지했습니다. 일본은 또 북한이 지난 70년대와 80년대 납치한 일본인들에 대해서도 완전한 해명을 요구하고 있습니다.
반기문 유엔사무총장은 최근의 진전은 북 핵 협상의 전면적인 이행을 가속화하기 위한 기회가 되고 있다고 말했습니다.

World leaders are welcoming North Korea's declaration of its nuclear program,
but say they remain cautious until they can verify the North Korean claims.
Speaking at the Group of Eight foreign ministers' meeting in Tokyo, Japanese
Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura today (Thursday) said North Korea's
declaration is only one step in the process of ending the country's nuclear
weapon program.
In 2006, Tokyo closed its ports to North Korean-registered vessels and banned
most trade with its neighbor in response to Pyongyang's missile and nuclear
tests.
Japan also demands that North Korea fully account for Japanese citizens who the
North abducted in the 1970s and 80s.
U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said that recent developments are an
opportunity to speed up full implementation of the process with North Korea.
