필리핀에서 태풍으로 여객선 한 척이 침몰해 7백여명이 실종됐습니다. 필리핀 전역에서는 태풍으로 이미 2백여명이 숨지는 등 피해가 속출하고 있습니다.
사고 여객선은 중부 시부얀 섬 해안 부근에서22일 필리핀 해안 경비대에 의해 발견됐습니다. 현재까지 4명의 생존자와 4구의 사체만 발견됐습니다.
생존자들은 수많은 승객들이 태풍 펑선으로 배가 전복될 당시 배에서 빠져나오지 못했다고 전했습니다.
필리핀 적십자는 이번에 강타한 평선 태풍으로 이미 적어도 2백 29명이 사망했다고 말했습니다. 침몰한 여객선에서 실종된 승객과 승무원 수는 이들 사망자 수에 포함되지 않았습니다.

More than 700 people are missing in the Philippines after a passenger
ship capsized in a typhoon that has already claimed more than 200 lives and
ripped a trail of destruction across the archipelago.
The Philippine coast guard found the capsized ferry (the MV Princess of
Stars) today (Sunday) with only its rear keel above water.
So far, only four survivors from the ferry have been found and the bodies of
four victims have been recovered. The ship was found off the coast of
the central island of Sibuyan.
Those who survived say many passengers did not make it off the ship when it
capsized during Typhoon Fengshen. Search and rescue operations continue, but
high seas are making things difficult.
The Philippine Red Cross says the typhoon has already killed at least 229
people. That number does not include the missing passengers and crew on the
ship.
