일본과 중국 정부는 동중국해에서 천연가스를 공동 개발하고
이윤을 분배하기로 합의함에 따라 오랜 에너지 분쟁을 극복했습니다.
일본과 중국 정부 당국자들은 18일 합의가 타결됐다고 밝히며, 이미 중국이 개발하고 있는 매장 지역까지 포함해 동중국해 천연가스 개발 사업에 일본이 투자하고 양측이 이윤을 분배하기로 합의했다고
말했습니다.
고무라 마사히코 일본 외상은 이번 합의로 인해 동중국해를
평화로운 협력과 우애의 바다로 만들려는 일본과 중국의 목적에 한발짝 다가갔다고 말했습니다.
장유 중국 외교부 대변인은 이번 합의가 중국과 일본
모두에게 득이 되며, 양국의 안정과 에너지 협력을 증진시킬
것이라고 말했습니다.
그러나 이번 합의는 두 나라 사이의 영유권 분쟁 문제는 다루지 않았습니다.

Japan and China have overcome a long-standing energy dispute and agreed to jointly develop gas fields and share profits in areas of the East China Sea.Officials in Tokyo and Beijing confirmed the deal today (Wednesday), that allows Japan to invest in gas field projects, including a field already operated by China, and both sides to reap a portion of the profits.
Japan's Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura called the agreement a first step toward realizing a consensus to make the East China Sea a sea of peaceful cooperation and friendship.
China's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Jiang Yu, called the agreement mutually beneficial and said it would help promote stability and energy cooperation.
The deal sidesteps the more difficult issue of where the maritime border between the two countries lies.
