양국은 또 양해각서를 통해 중동에 주둔 중인 외국 군대가 지역 긴장을 고조시키고 있다면서, 이들의 철수를 촉구했습니다. 이란과 시리아는 레바논을 근거로 한 이슬람 무장 단체 헤즈볼라의 주요 지원국입니다.

Iran and Syria have signed a memorandum of understanding on defense issues.
Iranian Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar and his Syrian counterpart, Hassan Turkmani, signed the deal today (Tuesday) in Tehran.
The memorandum calls for reciprocal visits by defense officials, along with technical and training cooperation.
It also urges a pullout of foreign forces that it says are causing tensions in the region.
Iran and Syria are major supporters of Hezbollah, the Lebanese-based Islamic militant group that fought Israel in a war in 2006.
