미국 국무부의 숀 맥코맥 대변인은 어제 발표한 성명에서 수단 정부가 학교와 시장 등 민간인 시설들을 목표로 수단의 남동부 다르푸르 지역 북쪽에 공습을 감행했다며 비난했습니다.
성명은 수단 정부와 수단 내 모든 무장 단체들에 대해 평화적인 분쟁해결을 촉구했습니다.
구호 단체들과 반군 대표들에 따르면, 지난 4일 수단 공군기가 다르푸르 북부의 마을 한 곳을 폭격해 6명의 어린이를 포함해 모두 12명이 사망했습니다.

The U.S. State Department has condemned Sudanese government air raids that killed at least 12 people in the Darfur region.
A State Department spokesman (Sean McCormack) issued a statement Tuesday criticizing Sudan's government for bombing civilian targets, including a school and marketplace, in North Darfur.
The statement called on Sudan's government and all armed groups to pursue a peaceful resolution to their conflict.
Aid groups and rebel representatives say a Sudanese military plane bombed a village (Shegag Karo) in North Darfur state Sunday, killing six children and six adults. They say at least 30 others were wounded.
Sudan's army has not commented on the incident.
The top United Nations humanitarian official in Sudan (Ameerah Haq) is pushing for access to the victims. Witnesses say Sudan's refusal to provide access to the area have slowed efforts to evacuate the most seriously wounded and help other survivors.
