5월 인도분 원유는17일 미국 뉴욕 상품 거래소에서 16일 종가보다 약 0.5% 오른 배럴 당 1백15달러 54센트에 거래됐습니다.
국제유가의 이같은 상승세는 미국 달러화 약세로 원유 구입 비용이 상대적으로 낮아진 영향이 큰 것으로 분석되고 있습니다. 미국 달러화 가치는 17일 유로 당 1달러 59센트를 기록해 이틀 연속 사상 최저 수준을 맴돌았습니다.

The price of crude oil hit another all-time high above 115 dollars today (Thursday) as the weakening dollar boosted investor demand for commodities.
Crude oil for May delivery rose to a record 115-dollars-and-54 cents a barrel in New York, up about half a percent from Wednesday. The price later eased downward.
Oil is priced in dollars, so a weaker dollar tends to boost oil prices. The dollar slipped to a record low against the euro for the second consecutive day, trading at one-dollar-and-59 (-point-eight) cents.
The latest surge in oil prices follows a government report (Wednesday) showing a decline in U.S. oil and gasoline stocks. That decline comes as demand for gasoline in the United States is approaching its usual annual peak (the summer travel season in the U.S.).
