브라운 총리는 세계는 짐바브웨 국민들의 민주적 권리를 지지하고 있다는 점을 짐바브웨 국민들이 알 수 있도록 해야만 한다고 강조했습니다.
반기문 유엔 사무총장은 집바브웨 대선결과의 신속한 공개를 다시 한 번 촉구했습니다. 반 총장은 또한 위기 해소와 관련해 남아프리카 개발공동체에 대한 유엔의 지원을 제의했습니다.

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has told the U.N. Security Council and attending African Union leaders no one believes Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe won his country's recent presidential election.
Mr. Brown told the high-level meeting today the world must send a message to Zimbabweans that it supports their democratic rights.
U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon repeated his call for the speedy release of election results. He also offered U.N. support for the Southern African Development Community in resolving the crisis.
South African President Thabo Mbeki, whose country holds the rotating Security Council presidency, chaired the meeting and did not mention Zimbabwe in his opening remarks. Today's meeting was convened initially to discuss the relationship between African regional organizations and the United Nations.
Mr. Mbeki has come under increasing international criticism for his pronouncement that there is no crisis in Zimbabwe and that it is a regional matter.
