포괄적 핵실험금지조약기구는 이로써 이 조약을 비준한 국가가 모두 143개국으로 늘어났다고 밝혔습니다.
이 기구의 티보르 토스 사무총장은 특히 이 조약에 따라 감시를 받게 될 세계적인 경보체제의 일부가 되기 때문에 말레이시아의 참여가 아주 중요하다고 밝혔습니다.
지난 1996년에 유엔이 채택한 이 조약은 어떤 형태, 규모, 장소에서의 핵폭발실험도 금지하고 있습니다.
