아프가니스탄 관리들은 5일 수도 카불에서 아프간 군 버스를 겨냥한 자살차량 폭탄 테러가 발생해 최소 13명이 사망하고 10여 명이 부상했다고 밝혔습니다.
로버트 게이츠 미국 국방장관의 아프간 방문 일정 마지막 날 발생한 이번 테러로 병사 6명과 민간인 7명이 사망했으며 그 가운데 4명은 어린이였다고, 아프간 당국은 밝혔습니다.
탈레반 무장세력은 이 날 테러와 앞서 4일 카불 공항 인근에서 나토 호송차량을 겨냥한 자살차량 폭탄 역시 자신들의 소행이라고 밝혔습니다. 4일 테러로 나토 군 사상자는 없었으나 아프간 민간인 22명이 부상했습니다.
한편, 게이츠 장관은 4일 하미드 카르자이 아프간 대통령과 비스물라 칸 장군을 만났습니다. 카르자이 대통령과 칸 장군은 아프간 군이 탈레반 무장단체와의 전투를 위해 교관과 장비가 더 필요하다고 밝혔습니다.
게이츠 장관은 미국 정부는 아프가니스탄에 대한 재정지원을 위해 최선을 다하고 있다고 밝혔습니다.

Afghan officials say a suicide car bomber has struck an Afghan army bus in Kabul, killing at least 13 people and wounding more than 10 others.
The blast happened this (Wednesday) morning in the southern part of the Afghan capital as U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates was ending a visit to the city. Officials say the dead include six soldiers and seven civilians, four of them children.
Taliban militants claimed responsibility for the blast and an earlier suicide car bombing on Tuesday that hit a NATO convoy near Kabul's airport. No NATO troops were hurt in Tuesday's attack but 22 Afghan civilians were wounded.
Secretary Gates met Tuesday with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and his army chief Bismullah Khan. Both men told Gates that the Afghan military needs more trainers and equipment to fight the Taliban.
Gates said Washington is doing all it can to help Afghanistan and plans to send more financial aid.
