후진타오 주석은 이날 중국의 경제정책을 담당하는 경제위원회 관리들과 만난 자리에서, 중국 경제가 초고속 성장을 하고 있다며 앞으로 경제를 ‘식히는데’ 주력하겠다고 밝혔습니다. 특히 중국 수뇌부는 과도한 경제성장을 억제하기 위해 수출과 투자 그리고 물가 동향을 면밀히 살피기로 했습니다.
중국경제는 지난 2분기 경제성장율이 11.9%로 13년만에 최고를 기록하고 6월 소비자 물가가 4.4%를 기록하는 등 경기 과열 양상을 보이고 있습니다.

China's top leaders say controlling and moderating the country's rapidly expanding economy is the nation's most important economic priority.
At a meeting chaired by President Hu Jintao today (Thursday), Chinese officials expressed concern that the country's economy may "overheat." The concern is that if the country continues to produce and export goods at its current pace, it will force a significant rise in consumer prices.
The government says it needs to keep an eye on growth of the trade surplus and other areas of the economy, including investment activity, in order to control prices.
China announced that its economy expanded by 11-point-nine percent in the last three months. That rapid growth resulted in the fastest rate of consumer price inflation in nearly three years.
