세계 랭킹 1위인 스위스의 로저 페더러가 윔블던 대회 남자 단식 5년 연속 우승을 달성했습니다.
페더러는 영국 런던의 윔블던 올잉글랜드 클럽에서 8일 열린 2007 윔블던 테니스 대회 남자 단식 결승에서 스페인의 라파엘 나달과 풀세트까지 가는 대접전 끝에 3대 2로 이겼습니다.
이로써 페더러는 1976년과 1980년 사이 스웨덴의 비웨른 보리 이후 처음으로 올잉글랜드 테니스 클럽에서 5연패의 위업을 달성한 테니스의 황제로 군림하게 됐습니다.
앞서 7일 열렸던 윔블던 테니스 대회 여자 단식에서는 미국의 비너스 윌리엄스가 프랑스의 마리온 바톨리를 2대 0으로 꺾고 통산 4번째의 윔블던 위승컵을 안았습니다.

Roger Federer of Switzerland has captured his fifth consecutive Wimbledon tennis title by defeating nemesis Rafael Nadal of Spain in a five-set epic.
Federer appeared to be in trouble in the fifth set Sunday before turning the tables and holding on for a 7-6, 4-6, 7-6, 2-6, 6-2 victory.
With the win, Federer becomes the first man to win five straight titles at the All England Tennis Club since Sweden's Bjorn Borg did it between 1976 and 1980.
The Swiss star also stretched his grass-court winning streak to 53, his Wimbledon winning streak to 34 and is tied for third on the all-time list with 11 major titles.
The victory was just Federer's fifth against Nadal in 13 meetings. The Spaniard has defeated Federer in the past two French Open finals to spoil his bid to complete a career Grand Slam.
Federer is the world's top-ranked player.
