영국은 반군이 활동중인 에티오피아 동북부 지방을 여행하던 중 납치된 유럽 관광객들을 구출하기 위해 위기 대응팀을 에티오피아에 파견할 것이라고 밝혔습니다.
적어도 7명의 프랑스 인들이 포함된 관광단과 5명의 영국인들이 포함된 또 다른 관광단 등 2개의 관광 단체가 이번 주에 에티오피아 아파르 지역을 관광하던 중 실종됐습니다.
영국 외무장관은 아디스 아바바 주재 영국 대사관 직원과 그 가족이 실종자들 가운데 포함됐다고 확인했습니다.
에티오피아의 한 여행사는 실종된 것으로 보였던 제 3의 관광단은 납치되지 않았고 현재 소재가 파악됐다고 발표했습니다.
에티오피아 정부 당국자들과 외국 외교관들은 이번 납치 사건을 조사하고 있다고 말했습니다.

Britain says it is sending a crisis team to Ethiopia to try to free European tourists who were kidnapped while traveling in a remote, rebel-plagued area in the country's northeast.
Two groups of tourists, including at least seven French nationals in one group and five Britons in another, disappeared earlier this week while traveling in Ethiopia's Afar region.
The British foreign secretary has confirmed that staff of the British embassy in Addis Ababa and their relatives are among the missing.
A local tour operator announced that what appeared to be a third missing group of tourists has now been located and were not kidnapped.
Ethiopian government officials and foreign diplomats say they are investigating the abductions.
