중국의 후진타오 국가주석은 중국과 아프리카는 평등과 상호이익을 근간으로 “전략적 동반자관계 (strategic paternership)”를 구축하고 있다고 말했습니다.
후 주석은 6일 아프리카 8개국 순방 중 6번째 방문국인 남아프리카 공화국에 도착한 뒤 성명을 통해 이같이 밝혔습니다.
후 주석은 타보 음베키 남아공 대통령과 만날 예정이며 양국은 농업과 에너지, 그리고 광산업 분야에서 무역협정을 체결할 예정입니다. 남아공은 아프리카 국가들 가운데 중국의 최대 교역상대국입니다.
양국의 관계는 남아공에서 인종차별 정책인 아파르트헤이트가 종식된지 4년만인 지난 1998년 외교관계를 맺은 이후 크게 발전해왔습니다.

Chinese President Hu Jintao says China and South Africa are building "a strategic partnership" based on equality and mutual benefit.
The Chinese leader issued the statement today (Tuesday) on his arrival in South Africa, the sixth stop on a tour aimed at strengthening Beijing's ties to Africa.
Mr. Hu is scheduled to meet with South African President Thabo Mbeki and to witness the signing of trade agreements on agriculture, energy and mining.
South Africa already is China's largest trading partner on the continent. Relations between the two countries have expanded greatly since they established diplomatic ties in 1998, four years after the end of apartheid in South Africa.
