Rebels in the Darfur region of Sudan have accused the government of resuming air raids and violating a ceasefire agreement.
Leaders from the Sudan Liberation Movement said Sunday that over the past several days the army dropped bombs on the Ein Siro village, killing an unspecified number of civilians.
The air raids have not been independently confirmed. In the past, the Sudanese army has denied any bombing in Darfur.
Earlier this month, the government and rebel groups agreed to a 60-day ceasefire, brokered by U.S. politician Bill Richardson (Governor of New Mexico).
The U.S. envoy, however, failed to persuade Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir to allow a joint African Union-United Nations peacekeeping force into Darfur.
