베를린 주재 미국 대사관 관계관은 미국측 수석대표, 크리스토퍼 힐 국무부 동아시아태평양 담당 차관보와 북한 외무성의 김계관 부상이 회담을 가졌다고 확인했으나 논의내용에 관해서는 언급하지 않았습니다.
힐 수석대표는 16일에 이어 17일, 이틀 째 김 부상과 회담을 가진뒤 회담이 유익했다고 말했습니다. 힐 수석대표는 6자회담이 이 달중에 속개되기를 기대한다면서 그러나 중국이 회담 주재국으로서 최종결정을 내릴 것이라고 말했습니다.
힐 차관보는 19일 서울을 방문하며 곧바로 베이징과 도쿄를 잇달아 방문할 예정입니다.

A third round of meetings between U.S. and North Korean officials ended in Berlin today (Thursday) with no clear sign if six-party talks on Pyongyang's nuclear weapons would begin again soon.
A U.S. embassy official in Berlin confirmed that meetings between Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill and North Korean negotiator Kim Kye Gwan had concluded, but did not comment on the discussions.
The two envoys have had meetings since Tuesday to discuss resuming the six-party talks aimed at convincing North Korea to abandon its nuclear weapons. On Wednesday, Hill described the talks as "useful".
He also voiced hopes that another round of multilateral negotiations will be held this month. But he said China, as the host of the talks, will make the final decision.
