인도네시아에서 1일 승객과 승무원 102명을 태운 여객기가 추락한 것으로 확인된 가운데 구조대가 생존자 수색에 나섰으나 험란한 산악 지형때문에 구조에 어려움을 겪고 있습니다.
인도네시아 국방부와 항공 당국은 추락한 아담 에어 여객기가 발견됐다는 일부 보도 내용을 부인했습니다.
이딘 아리핀 구조수색담당관은 2일 구조대가 아담 에어 여객기가 추락한 정확한 지점을 찾는데 어려움을 겪고 있다고 말했습니다.
구조대는 현재 북부 술라웨이시섬의 두터운 정글과 험준한 산악 지대에서 항공기 잔해를 찾고 있습니다.
정확한 사상자 수는 아직 파악되지 않고 있는 가운데 90명이 사망하고 12명이 생존했다는 미확인 보도가 나오고 있습니다. 이 여객기에는 미국이 3명이 탑승해 있었으나 생존여부는 아직 알려지지 않고 있습니다.
한편 인도네시아 당국은 지난달 30일 자바해에서 침몰한 국내 여객선의 생존자 구조작업을 가속화하고 있습니다.
인도네시아 관리들은 승객 6백여명가운데 현재 2백여명이 구조됐다고 말했습니다. 구조대는 또 수색 작업을 통해 1 백여구의 사체를 인양했다고 관리들은 덧붙였습니다.
인도네시아 당국은 해군 선박과 어선, 헬리콥터 등을 동원해 생존자 구조작업을 벌이고 있으나 강한 바람과 높은 파도로 인해 수색에 어려움을 겪고 있습니다.
이 여객선은 지난달 30일 보로네오섬에서 자바섬으로 향하던중 폭풍 등 기상악화로 침몰했습니다.

Officials say Indonesian rescue crews are struggling through mountainous terrain to find the crash site of a passenger jet that went missing on Monday.
Indonesian military and aviation officials are now denying earlier reports that the Adam Air passenger jet had been located.
Search teams are looking for the wreckage today (Tuesday) in an area of thick jungle and steep terrain on Indonesia's northern Sulawesi island.
At least ninety people are said to have died in the crash, and unconfirmed reports say there are 12 survivors.
Three U.S. citizens were among the passengers. Their condition is unknown.
Meanwhile, Indonesian rescue teams are stepping up efforts today to reach survivors from a capsized ferry that was carrying some 600 people.
Officials say more than 200 people have been rescued, since the ferry went down Saturday in the Java Sea during a storm. One hundred bodies have been found.
Continued bad weather and high waves are making it difficult for a rescue fleet of navy ships, fishing boats and helicopters to reach survivors.
The ferry was sailing from Borneo island to Java island (Kumai in Central Kalimantan province to Semarang in Central Java) when it sank. Officials blame stormy weather.
