에밀 라후드 레바논 대통령은 시아파 각료 5명의 집단사퇴로 레바논 정부가 약화됐다고 말했습니다. 라후드 대통령은 12일, 정부가 그 정통성을 상실하고 있다고 말했습니다.
앞서 푸아드 시니오라 총리는 친 시리아계 헤즈볼라와 아말라 소속 각료 5명의 사의를 반려했습니다. 이들 각료들은 지난 11일 레바논 정부가 헤즈볼라와 그 동맹 세력에 게 보다 많은 결정권과 정부내 직책을 부여하라는 시아파의 요구를 거부하자 일괄 사퇴를 표명했습니다.
시니오라 정부는 국회내 의석 128석 가운데 3분의 2 이상을 차지한 다수당으로서 이들 다섯명의 장관없이도 운영될 수 있습니다. 그러나 헌법이 모든 종교 단체들의 참여를 기초로 하고 있고 시니오라 총리 역시 모든 시아파 장관들이 자리에 머물러 주기를 바라고 있습니다.

Lebanese President Emile Lahoud says resignations offered by five Shi'ite cabinet ministers have weakened Lebanon's government.
Mr. Lahoud today (Sunday) said the government has lost its legitimacy.
Earlier, Prime Minister Fuad Siniora rejected the resignations of five Shi'ite Cabinet ministers who are members of the pro-Syrian groups Hezbollah and Amal.
The ministers resigned Saturday after the government refused a Shi'ite demand to give Hezbollah and its allies a more decisive role and more seats in the government.
