한국과 미국은 북한 정부의 핵실험에도 불구하고 북한을 핵보유국으로 인정하지 않을것이라고 말했습니다.
양국 관리들은 7일 서울에서 회담을 가진뒤 발표한 공동 성명에서 북한 정부의 핵실험은 지역의 평화와 안보에 대한 중대한 위협이라고 말했습니다.
양국은 또 북한 핵실험에 대한 유엔안전보장이사회의 대북한 제재 결의안을 강도 높게 이행하는 것이 중요하다는데 뜻을 같이했습니다.
미국 국무부의 로버트 조셉 군축-국제안보 담당 차관과 니콜라스 번스 정무 담당 차관은 한국 외교 관리들과 회담을 가진뒤 이같은 내용의 공동 성명을 발표했습니다.

The United States and South Korea say they will not recognize North Korea as a nuclear weapons state, despite Pyongyang's test of a nuclear bomb last month.
U.S. and South Korean officials said in a joint statement today (Tuesday) that Pyongyang's nuclear test was a "grave threat" to peace and security in the region.
The two sides also agreed on the importance of strictly enforcing U.N. sanctions imposed on Pyongyang for conducting the test. A U.N. Security Council resolution (1718) approved last month bans trading in weapons technology with North Korea.
The joint statement followed talks in Seoul between South Korean officials and two senior U.S. diplomats, Robert Joseph and Nicholas Burns.
Seoul has resisted U.S. calls to carry out inspections of North Korean ships, because of concern that such action could provoke Pyongyang into starting battles at sea.
