두 사람 모두 회담 논의 내용을 공개하지 않았습니다. 그러나, 나중에 살레 부총리는 이라크의 운명은 중동의 미래에 결정적이라고 말했습니다. 살레 부총리는 현 시점에서 국제 사회가 이라크를 떠나는 것을 하나의 선택 방안이라고는 생각하지 않는다고 말했습니다.
한편, 살레 부총리와 블레어 총리의 회담에 앞서, 영국의 가디언 신문은 블레어 총리가 살레 부총리에게, 이라크 보안군이 1년 안에 영국군으로부터 이라크 남부의 관할권을 인수할 준비가 돼 있음을 보여달라고 압력을 가할 것이라고 보도했습니다.

Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Barham Saleh says about half of his country's provinces will be under direct Iraqi government control by the end of the year.
Saleh spoke today (Monday) in London after meeting with British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Neither official disclosed details of the meeting. But Saleh said afterwards the fate of Iraq is vital to the future of the Middle East. He said he did not see what he called an option for the international community to leave Iraq at this time.
Ahead of the talks, the "Guardian" newspaper reported that Mr. Blair would pressure Saleh to show that Iraqi security forces would be ready to take over from the British army in Iraq's southern provinces within a year.
