Sources at Venezuela's state-run oil company, PDVSA, told news agencies the new cuts this week brings the total reduction this month to 100-thousand barrels per day.
Venezuela is backing a proposal for members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries to cut overall production by one million barrels per day in an effort to stop oil prices from falling further.
