미 연방 검찰은 13일 미국 남부 조지아주 롬에 살고 있는 모하메드 숄바기가 유죄을 인정했다고 말했습니다. 그는 민간 단체를 통해 하마스를 돕기 위한 후원금과 물품을 보낸 혐의를 받고 있었습니다.

A Muslim prayer leader in the southern United States has pleaded guilty to providing material support to the Palestinian militant group, Hamas, which the United States considers a terrorist organization.
The U.S. Attorney's office in Atlanta announced today (Friday) that Mohamed Shorbagi, who lives in Rome, Georgia, entered the plea. He is said to have acknowledged donating money and conspiring to give material support to Hamas through a group called the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development.
Federal auhtorities say Shorbagi was a representative for the group in Georgia until 2001, and that he knew the funds would go to Hamas.
Shorbagi, a legal permanent U.S. resident, agreed to a plea bargain in late August, but the case has been kept secret until now. He is expected to get 15 years in prison at his November third sentencing. That sentence could be reduced if he contributes substantially to the federal investigation of the case.
