중국 관영 신화 통신은 외국 통신사의 어떤 뉴스와 정보들이 중국내에서 배포될 수 있을 지를 결정할 권한을 자사가 위임받았다고 말했습니다.
신화 통신은 10일, 정보가 중국의 국가 단합과 주권 , 영토 보전을 훼손하는 것이라고 판단될 경우, 이 정보는 배포될 수 없다는 내용의 새로운 규정을 발표했습니다.
신화 통신은 승인되지 않은 외국 통신사의 어떠한 보도 자료도 삭제할 권한이 있다고 말했습니다. 신화 통신은 또 이 규정들은 본토 중국으로 정보를 전달하는 홍콩과 마카오, 타이완에 있는 통신사들에도 적용될 수도 있다고 말했습니다.
외국 언론의 인허가를 감독하는 중국 외교부는 신화통신의 이같은 보도에 어떠한 논평도 하지 않고 있습니다.

China's official news agency, Xinhua, says it has been authorized to determine what news and information foreign media can distribute in the country.
Xinhua issued new regulations today (Sunday) saying information may be banned from distribution if it is deemed to undermine China's national unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The state agency said it has the right to delete any material released by foreign news agencies that it does not approve of.
Xinhua said the regulations may also be applied to news agencies in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan that distribute information to the mainland.
China's foreign ministry, which oversees the accreditation of foreign media, has not commented on Xinhua's report.
