미 항공 우주국 나사측은 애틀란티스호가 9일 궤도로 올라가는 과정에서 우주선의 연료 탱크에 두조각의 단열재가 떨어져 나간 것으로 보이지만 어떠한 파손이 있는 것 같지는 않다고 말했습니다.
애틀란티스호는 악천후와 기술상의 문제로 발사가 여러 날 지연된 뒤 지난 9일 플로리다주에 있는 케네디 우주 센터에서 발사됐습니다.

Astronauts aboard the U.S. Space Shuttle Atlantis are checking the spacecraft's heat shield today (Sunday) for any damage that may have occurred during Saturday's lift-off.
The U.S. space agency says the shuttle's fuel tank appeared to shed two pieces of foam insulation during Saturday's climb to orbit, but NASA says it did not look like there was any damage.
Atlantis took off Saturday from Kennedy Space Center in Florida (on the U.S. southeastern Atlantic coast) after several delays caused by bad weather and technical problems.
