8일 미군 호송대가 지나가는 길목에서 자살폭탄 테러범이 자동차를 이용해 자폭했다고 미군측이 밝혔습니다. 목격자들은 사건발생 직후 미군병사들과 보안요원들이 주변교통을 차단하고 조사에 착수했다고 전했습니다.
또한 8일, 카불 남쪽의 칸다하 시 외곽에서도 자동차를 이용한 자살폭탄 테러가 발생했으나 자살폭탄 테러범 본인 외에 다른 사망자는 없었습니다. 아프가니스탄 서부에서도 폭탄테러로 이탈리아 군인 네명이 부상했습니다.

A powerful suicide car bombing near the U.S. embassy in Kabul has killed at least 16 people, including two American soldiers.

South of Kabul, another suicide bomber blew up his car today outside the city of Kandahar, killing only himself. And in western Afghanistan, a bomb attack wounded four Italian soldiers.
In other developments, NATO officials say troops killed at least 20 Taleban fighters Thursday during an ongoing operation in southern Afghanistan. The deaths, in Kandahar province, bring the number of Taleban fighters killed during the week-long operation to about 300.
