이란이 우라늄 농축 중단을 위한 유엔의 마감시한을 무시했음에도 불구하고 중국은 주요 강대국들에게 이란과의 핵 갈등을 대화로 해결할 것을 또다시 촉구했습니다.
중국 외교부 대변인은 5일 베이징에서 기자들에게 이란 핵문제가 협상을 통해 해결되어야 한다는 것이 중국의 변함없는 입장이라고 말했습니다.
하비에르 솔라나 유럽 연합 정책의장은 유엔 결의안과 관련, 협상을 바라고 있다는 이란의 암시를 분명히 파악하기 위해 알리 라리자니 이란 최고 핵 협상대표와 이번주 만날 것으로 예상됩니다.
그러나 이란은 또한, 유엔 안보리가 요구하고 있는 우라늄 농축을 중단하지 않을 것이라고도 말하고 있습니다. 미국과 러시아, 프랑스, 영국, 중국등 유엔 안보리 5개 상임 이사국과 독일은 후속 행동을 논의하기 위해 이른 시일내 회담을 가질 예정입니다.

China has again called for Iran's nuclear standoff with major powers to be resolved through dialogue -- even after Iran defied a United Nations Security Council deadline to stop uranium enrichment.
A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman (Qin Gang) told reporters in Beijing today (Tuesday) that China "consistently stood" for resolution of the Iranian nuclear issue through negotiations.
European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana is expected to meet with top Iranian nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani this week to clarify Tehran's indication that it wants to negotiate a resolution.
But Iran also says it will not halt uranium enrichment as the Security Council demands.
The Council's five permanent members -- the United States, Russia, France, Britain and China -- along with Germany are to meet soon to discuss their next move.
