남한의 통일부는 20일 북한에 쌀 10만톤과 시멘트 10만톤, 담요 8만장, 덤프 트럭과 건설 장비 및 의약품을 지원할 것이라고 발표했습니다.
남한과 북한 적십자사 관계자들은 19일 금강산에서 열린 회의에서 이같은 지원계획에 합의했습니다.
남한의 민간 지원단체들도 북한의 수재민들을 돕기 위해 1천만 달러를 지원하기로 했습니다. 북한은 태풍과 폭우로 인해 수백여명이 사망 또는 실종되고 수만여채의 가옥이 파괴됐다고 밝혔습니다.

South Korea says it will provide 230 million dollars in emergency humanitarian aid to North Korea to help the country recover from devastating floods.
South Korea's Unification Ministry announced today (Sunday) it will give the North 100 thousand tons of rice, 100 thousand tons of cement and 80 thousand blankets, along with dump trucks, construction equipment and medical supplies.
North and South Korean Red Cross officials helped negotiate the aid package at the North's Diamond Mountain resort Saturday.
South Korean independent aid groups have also pledged more than 10 million dollars in emergency aid to help flood victims.
North Korea says a typhoon and heavy monsoon rains left hundreds of people dead or missing, and destroyed tens of thousands of buildings in early July.
