마욘 화산은 지난달 말부터 가스와 연기를 분출하고 있습니다. 하지만 일부 농민들은 주택과 가축들을 보호하기 위해 대피를 거부하고 있습니다.

Disaster officials in the Philippines are scrambling to move some 35-thousand people from the slopes of the Mayon volcano, which they say could erupt at anytime.
Soldiers and disaster relief officials today (Tuesday) are trying to evacuate villagers who live within eight kilometers of the volcano, after scientists warned Monday the smoldering mountain is on the verge of an eruption.
Not all villagers are willing to leave, however. Some farmers have decided to stay to protect their homes and livestock.
Mayon has been belching ash and gas since late July. A column of lava has streamed down the volcano, stopping just two kilometers away from some villages.
Mayon is one of the the Philippines' most active volcanoes, and has erupted 47 times in the past 400 years.
