에티오피아 동부지역에서 집중호우로 인한 홍수로 적어도 150여 명이 사망했다고 관계관들이 밝혔습니다.
구조대원들과 당국자들은 이들 희생자는 수도 아디스 아바바에서 동쪽으로 500킬로미터쯤 떨어진 디레 다와 지역 주민들이라고 전했습니다. 경찰은 이번 홍수로 100여 채의 가옥이 파괴됐다고 말했습니다.
지난 2일 에티오피아 재난방지 및 대책위원회는 이 나라 오로미아 지역에서 발생한 홍수로 만 5천 여명이 피해를 입었다고 밝혔습니다.

Officials in Ethiopia say heavy rain and floods in the east of the country have killed 150 people.
Rescue workers say the victims were from the Dire Dawa region, about 500 kilometers east of the capital, Addis Ababa. Police say more than 100 homes were destroyed by the floods.
On Wednesday, Ethiopia's Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Commission said about 15-thousand people were affected by floods in the country's Oromia region.
