인도의 한 고위 관계관은 파키스탄이 자체 영토 내에서 활동하고 있는 테러 단체들을 단속한 후에라야만 인도와 파키스탄간 평화 과정 교착 상태가 종식될 수 있을 것이라고 말했습니다.
인도의 아난드 샤르마 외교 차관은 30일 인도 언론 매체에게 파키스탄이 확고한 행동을 취해야할 필요가 있음을 깨달을 때라야 양국간 평화 회담이 재개될 수 있을 것이라고 말했습니다.
인도는 지난 11일 근 200명의 사망자를 냈던 뭄바이 열차 폭탄 사건이 발생한 뒤를 이어 양국 고위 외교관들간 열릴 예정이었던 이틀 일정의 회담을 취소했었습니다.
인도 조사관들은 이 폭탄 공격과 관련해 8명의 용의자를 검거했습니다. 이들 조사관은 체포된 용의자들 가운데 적어도 한 명은 ‘라슈카레토이바’ 로 알려진 파키스탄에 본거지를 둔 카슈미르 과격 단체 지도자인 것으로 믿어지고 있다고 말했습니다.
관계관들은 이들 캬슈미르 과격단체가 뭄바이 열차 폭탄 공격에 개입되지 않았나 의심하고 있지만 이들 단체는 어떠한 개입도 하지 않았다며 이를 일축하고 있습니다.

A top Indian official says a stalemate in the peace process with Pakistan will end only after Islamabad clamps down on terror groups operating from its territory.
Junior Minister for External Affairs, Anand Sharma, told the Indian media (Sunday) talks can only take place when Pakistan realizes the need to take firm action.
India called off a two day meeting between top diplomats from both countries following the train bombings in Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay) on July 11th, which killed nearly 200 people.
Indian investigators arrested eight suspects. They say at least one of those arrested is believed to be a leader of the Pakistan-based Kashmiri militant group known as Lashkar-e-Toiba, which officials suspect was involved in the attacks. Lashkar has denied any involvement.
