시위대는 회의장 외곽에 배치된 경찰병력을 가로질러 입구에 까지 진입해 미국이 이스라엘의 레바논 공격을 중단시킬 것을 요구했습니다. 이들은 경찰이 회의장 내부 진입을 막자 입구에서 2시간 동안 연좌농성을 벌였습니다.
이번 시위는 말레이시아 총리의 사위가 주도했는데, 그는 집권당인 말레이전국기구연합의 청년 지도자입니다.

Hundreds of anti-U.S. protesters in Malaysia have marched to the entrance of the convention center where U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is attending a regional security forum.
The demonstrators walked past riot police stationed outside the Kuala Lumpur complex and reached the front doors, demanding the U.S. force Israel to stop its offensive in Lebanon.
The protesters staged a two-hour sit-in at the entrance after police prevented them from entering the building.
Today's (Friday's) protest was led by the Malaysian prime minister's son-in-law, who is a leading member (of the youth wing) of the country's ruling party, the United Malays National Organization (UMNO).
Khairy Jamaluddin shouted for Secretary Rice to come out and meet him. Police later allowed him to hand a protest letter to a U.S. official inside the center.
The anti-war demonstrators also burned American flags and an effigy of Secretary Rice.
