U.S.-led coalition forces have bombed suspected Taleban positions in southern Afghanistan after two British soldiers and their Afghan interpreter were killed in an attack by insurgents.
Four coalition troops were also wounded in the battle Saturday night on a base in the Sangin district of Helmand province.
Provincial officials say Afghan forces killed 12 Taleban fighters in the same district Saturday. It is not clear if the rebels were involved in the attack on the British base.
