미국과 유럽, 중국, 러시아 등 강대국들은 오스트리아의 비엔나에서 이란에 대한 보상책에 합의했습니다. 라이스 장관은 이란이 핵 활동을 중단하면 금융과 기술 지원이 제공될 것이지만 그렇지 않을 경우 제재가 가해질 것이라고 말했습니다.
라이스 장관은 미국 언론들과의 회견에서 유엔 안보리 5개 상임이사국들과 독일은 이란이 제안을 받은 날로 부터 몇 주일 안에 응답하기를 기대한다고 말했습니다.
토니 스노우 백악관 대변인은 2일 이란은 외교적 해결을 모색하기 위해 우라늄 농축 활동을 중단해야 할 것이라고 말했습니다.

The Iranian News Agency (today/Friday) has quoted Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as saying Iran will not be pressured into giving up its rights.
Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said she hoped Iran will seriously consider a new package of incentives to suspend its nuclear activities.
The world's major powers agreed on the package Thursday in Vienna. Rice said financial and technological incentives are being offered, and penalties can be imposed if Iran rejects the offer.
Rice discussed Iran in a series of interviews with American media. She said the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council plus Germany hope that Iran will respond within weeks once the offer is presented.
White House spokesman Tony Snow today (Friday) said Iran must suspend its enrichment activities in order to move forward diplomatically.
Meanwhile, in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin said it is too soon to discuss sanctions against Iran.
Earlier, Rice told CNN television that "Russia and China have signed on to the two paths" approach of incentives and punishment.
