인도네시아의 수마트라 섬 캐로 지구에서 지난 2-3주사이에 병이 들어 사망한 일가족 5명은 모두 치명적인 H5N1 조류 독감 바이러스에 의한 것으로 보인다고 보건 관계관들이 밝혔습니다.
인도네시아 보건 관계관들은 14일 이들에 대한 현지 검사 결과 H5N1 바이러스에 감염된 것으로 시사됐다고 밝히고, 그러나 이들이 감염된 닭들과 접촉했었는지의 여부는 분명치않다고 말했습니다.
이들의 사인이 확인될 경우, H5N1 바이러스로 인한 인도네시아인 사망자 수는 모두 30명으로 늘어날 것입니다.

Health officials in Indonesia say five people from the same family have died of a suspected H5N1strain of bird flu.
The health ministry's director general of disease control (Nyoman Kandun) said today (Sunday) the five were from the Karo district on Sumatra island.
Health officials say the victims fell sick and died over the past few weeks. It is unclear whether they were in contact with infected poultry.
If the laboratory confirms the H5N1 strain of bird flu, Indonesia's death toll from the deadly disease would rise to 30 people.
