적어도 8개의 아시아 태평양 국가들이 다음 달 열리는 조류 독감 대비 태세 점검 훈련에 참가할 예정입니다. 호주와 싱가포르가 주관하는 이번 훈련에서는 전염병이나 다른 국제적 보건 위기 상황이 발생할 경우에 대비한 각 국가들 간의 의사 소통 문제가 점검될 예정입니다.
이같은 계획은 4일, 베트남 다낭에서 열리고 있는 조류 독감에 관한 아시아 태평양 경제 협력체 에이펙 회의에서 발표됐습니다.
이번 회의 주최측은 사람들 사이에서 조류 독감이 대규모로 발병할 경우 아시아 태평양 지역에 미치는 사회적 경제적 피해를 피하기 위한 행동 계획이 만들어지기를 기대하고 있다고 말했습니다.

At least eight Asia-Pacific nations will take part in an exercise next month to test response readiness to a possible avian flu epidemic.
The drill, coordinated by Australia and Singapore, will test how nations communicate during an epidemic or other international health crisis situation.
The plan was announced today (Thursday) at a conference of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) on bird flu in Danang, Vietnam. Conference organizers say they hope to form an action plan for avoiding social and economic harm to the region should there be a major human outbreak of avian flu.
Since 2003, bird flu has infected more than 200 people, most of them in Asia, and more than 100 have died. The latest death was confirmed today (Thursday) in Egypt where a 27-year old women died of the H5N1 strain of the virus.
