President Bush has called North Korea a "heartless country" after an emotional meeting on Friday with a Japanese mother whose teenage daughter was kidnapped 29 years ago.
North Korea has admitted to abducting Megumi Yokota when she was thirteen years old, but claimed she had later died. Her mother, Sakie Yokota, has said she believes Megumi is still alive.
Earlier Friday, South Korean intelligence officials said they have confirmed that at least five South Koreans who were kidnapped by North Korea are still alive, and that there is evidence one of them is married to Megumi Yokota.
South Korea says the North is still holding more than 500 prisoners taken during the Korean war in the 1950s, and has abducted more than 400 South Koreans since then.
Officials believe North Korea uses such abductees to train its spies.
