의회는 28일 반 정부 및 민주화 시위로 숨진 희생자들을 추모하기 위한 묵념으로 회의를 시작했습니다.
회의가 시작된 의회 의사당 주변에서는 수천명의 시위자들이 국기를 흔들고 헌법 개정을 계속 추진하라는 구호를 외치면서 시위를 벌였습니다.
한편 이날 취임 선서를 하기로 예정됐던 기리자 프라사드 코이랄라 총리 지명자는 의회에 모습을 드러내지 않았습니다. 보좌관들은 올해 84세의 코이랄라 총리 지명자가 폐 질환으로 총리 취임식을 재조정할 수 밖에 없었다고 전했습니다.

Nepal's parliament has reconvened for the first time in nearly four years, after weeks of protests forced King Gyanendra to give up absolute power and restore democratic rule.
The legislative session began today (Friday) with a moment of silence for victims of anti-monarchy and pro-democracy street protests.
Outside, thousands of protesters surrounded the gate of the parliament building, waving flags and chanting slogans to keep up the pressure for a new constitution.
Prime Minister-designate Girija Prasad Koirala was not present today (Friday) as legislators met in the ornate meeting hall in the heart of Katmandu. The ailing 84-year old veteran politician was to have been sworn in. But aides say an unspecified lung problem forced the ceremony to be rescheduled.
King Gyanendra formally appointed Mr. Koirala late Thursday as the king handed control to political parties following weeks of protests against his nearly 15 months of absolute rule.
Maoist rebels, who have fought a decade-long insurgency, announced a three-month ceasefire Thursday after Mr. Koirala assured them parliament will set elections for an assembly to draft a new constitution.
