Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is set to visit Germany, where he is expected to try to win support for India's civilian nuclear agreement with the United States.
Mr. Singh's three-day trip, his first to Germany as prime minister, is scheduled to begin Sunday. He is scheduled to meet with Chancellor Angela Merkel, seeking support for the nuclear deal that has been criticized in Germany.
Last month's agreement allows India and the United States to share civilian nuclear technology.
German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said the deal complicates international efforts to convince Iran to abandon its nuclear research.
U.S. lawmakers and the 45-member Nuclear Suppliers Group, which includes Germany, must still approve the agreement.
