러시아의 외무부는 이란내 원자력 발전소 건설을 중지하라는 미국의 촉구를 거부했습니다. 미하일 카미닌 러시아 외무부 대변인은 20일 모든 나라는 협력국가나 방식에 관해, 스스로 결정할 권리가 있다고 말했습니다.
카미닌 대변인의 이같은 발언은 하루 전날인 19일, 미국의 니콜라스 번스 차관이 이란과의 핵 혁력을 중단하라고, 몇몇 나라에 촉구한데 따른 것입니다.
이란문제를 논의하기위해 러시아를 방문중인 번스 차관은 러시아가 이란 서남부 부쉐르 시에 건설중인 발전소를 포함해 이란의 핵 계획을 도울 수 있는 어떤 기술도 이란에 제공되선 안된다고 말했습니다.
러시아의 세르게이 키리엔코 원자력부 장관 또한, 부쉐르 발전소 건설은 핵확산금지조약의 규정에 어긋나지않는다며 이를 옹호했습니다.

Russia's Foreign Ministry is rejecting a call by the United States to halt construction of a nuclear power plant in Iran.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mikhail Kamynin said today (Thursday) that every country has a right to decide for itself how and with whom it cooperates.
Kamynin was responding to a call Wednesday by U.S. Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns for countries to end all nuclear cooperation with Iran.
In Moscow for talks on Iran, Burns said the Tehran government should be denied any technology that could help its nuclear program, including work on the plant Russia is building near (the southwestern Iranian city of) Bushehr.
Russian atomic energy chief Sergei Kiriyenko also defended the Bushehr project. He said Russia's work in building the 800-million-dollar plant is in full compliance with the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
