이보다 앞서 이란의 마무드 아마디네자드 대통령은 지난 14일, 자체 핵 계획을 둘러싸고 유엔 안전보장 이사회의 강력한 제재에 직면하게 될 수도 있다는 콘돌리자 라이스 미 국무장관의 경고를 일축했습니다.

A top U.S. official says Iran will face consequences for its refusal to suspend uranium enrichment.
Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Nicholas Burns told VOA (Persian Service) that Iran is isolating itself through its nuclear activities.
Burns said Iran will face sanctions from not only the United States, but other countries as well.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Friday dismissed a previous warning from U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice that Iran could face strong action by the U.N. Security Council over its nuclear program
Rice said earlier in the week that Iran's claims of an advance in uranium enrichment will require strong steps by the U.N. Security Council when it meets on the issue at the end of the month.
Ahmadinejad dismissed her comment as unimportant.
Officials from the United States, China, the European Union and Russia are to hold talks in Moscow Tuesday to discuss Iran's nuclear program.
